
Many people were annoyed that someone would do something as
stupid as trying to live for more than forty days on just water.
They came to jeer but eventually they were standing and cheering.
In the not too distant future food shortages will be common throughout the world.
In 2001 David Blaine, Magician and self confessed publicity seeker did something
which was a hugely educational experience for everyone on the planet.
He lived in a glass box for more than forty days suspended over the River Thames
in London.
He proved something that many people in health and natural healing fields have
been aware of but have been unable to show proof of till this event.
What he proved was that we can live for quite long periods on just water or fluids.
At that time he lived on four liters or about a gallon of water each day,.
He suffered no negative side effects from his experience.
I and many other people who occasionally fast could do the same
( Live only on water for days or weeks )
But not only did David Blaine prove that we can live for long periods of time on
water or fluids he also unintentionally showed people why we get colds and flu .
If people regularly went for short periods without food - they would almost never
have colds and flu.
We know that toxins and all manner of waste matter accumulate in the body.
What most people don't know is that colds and flu are nothing more than the body
trying to get rid of accumulated waste matter etc.
Almost everyone has had a cold at some time. It follows a set pattern.
People suddenly begin to cough and sneeze and fill up countless paper tissues with
liquid gunk.
But all that gunk is just waste matter from the head, throat, nasal passages and chest,
which the body wants to get rid of.
After a few days of coughing and sneezing - we return to normal, but minus a lot of
accumulated waste.
An example of that accumulated waste is what the doctors call hardening of the arteries
- my arteries are clear of waste matter.
Eventually I will die from something but it won't be a heart attack.
This colds and flu process is often triggered by a slight increase in body temperature,
which is also a natural response of the body to too much internal waste.
What we need in order to completely rejuvenate ourselves is to have a break from
food for a few days or a few weeks .
Once you get used to fasting - which is what it is called .
Soon because of failing economic circumstances - millions of people around the world
will be without food for periods of time.
It could be chaotic and dangerous as people in different countries might arm themselves
in search of food.
Ironically - we do not need a lot of food to remain fit and healthy.
Babies ( growing at a fast rate ) live only on mother's milk or other liquids for many
months. Indeed during the first 18 months of a baby's life (before and after birth )
only fluids are consumed .
I lived for three years on just liquids between 1986 and 1989.
These liquids consisted of soups and water based drinks including beer
I never felt weak or got excessively skinny and I was working normally and
playing sport as well during that period (remember though that I had been doing this
occasionally for many years beforehand, so my body was used to it )
I only stopped living exclusively on liquids because I had proved a point and it is a
bit boring living on just liquids .
however I could return to living on just liquids at any time.
David Blaine lived for 44 days on just water ( he wanted to go a bit longer than
Jesus did in the Bible)
It is amusing that even religious people don't always accept that Jesus lived for forty
days in the desert on just water, but David showed everyone that it can be done and
of course millions of people have done this kind of thing over the centuries.
They just did not have a camera handy to film their fasting experiences and prove
what they had done.
David ( and people like myself ) could do what he did several times a year and
remain in great health.
Importantly we would not have consumed a whole truck load of food
that year. ( as we all tend to do )
The idea of nutrition largely comes down to an absence of rubbishy foods ( actually
all the fast foods we eat )
In all the commercial foods we eat there is a lot of salt used as preservative and lots
of sugar and other additives and they do more harm than good.
On a daily basis you are better off just having the equivalent of one meal a day and
you should make a lot of your food intake fruit and vegetables.
What the body needs most is Oxygen and exercise
We get Oxygen from the Air we breathe and the water and food that we eat -
especially from fruit and vegetables.
David was not trying to teach people about health matters .
As some kind of magician he was only seeking publicity - but he did something
magical for himself as well as for everyone else.
You see he removed a lot of accumulated waste from the cells of his body over
those 40 or more days .
What happens is that accumulated waste in the cells of the body is gradually
forced out of the cells during fasting and enters the bloodstream - to eventually
be eliminated from the body through urine etc
Consequently he would remain to this day healthier than he was before he
entered the glass box.
He will live years longer than he would have had he not embarked on that
fasting experience.
It is important for people who might be interested in fasting, to not do too much
to begin with.
The first couple of days living on water can be a bit like having the flu.
You get aches and feel nauseous, you might even have brief periods of diareeh
but this is only your body internally cleansing itself.
Once you have fasted for two or three days you go back to eating again
fruit is best after a period of fasting as it flushes waste out of your system
quickly.
Then a week or more later you repeat those two or three days on just water .
If you do this often enough you can go for longer periods.
It is almost like learning to run long distances.
These days I can change from eating food - to not eating food without any
discomfit at all.
But won't you feel terribly hungry without regular food intakes ?
No, because appetite and supposed hunger pangs are only withdrawal symptoms.
It is the same as if you are a cigarette smoker and suddenly stop smoking.
You feel cravings for nicotine etc, but eventually you get over it and don't have
cravings.
Same story with food !
Like most people in the past you would often have said to yourself ;
" Gee I'm starving I will have to see what's in the fridge"
But it is only that you might not have eaten for a while and you are experiencing
withdrawal symptoms.
If you continue to not eat - you will eventually stop feeling hungry.
Amazing but true.
The end result ?
If you fast for short periods of time each year you will have almost no colds and flu.
You will lose arthritis problems and lots of other ailments.
You will slim down (though if you have been really overweight, you need to spend
time in saunas as well to reduce your excess skin folds by perspiration loss )
You will look more youthful.
You will be lighter on your feet
All the organs in your body will function better including much improved sexual
performance
You will start to lose wrinkles on your face and your whole state of health will
improve dramatically.
The important thing is to start slowly at first.
Even just living on fruit and vegetables for a few weeks, gets your body accustomed
to a new diet, and even that new diet of fruit and vegetables will cleanse your body
internally.
Living only on fruit and vegetables is known as a raw food diet.
People who have illnesses like Diabetes have regained normal good health on raw
food diets.
That is true - but the ultimate health restoring experience is short periods of fasting.
Unfortunately if you ask your Doctor about fasting -he/she is likely to say ;
" what is that " ?
So you have to talk to alternative healing people with some experience of fasting
for advice, or just quietly start experimenting for a few days at a time on your own.
I have never experienced a mid life health crisis ( as some people who eat too much
food each day experience )
Physically I remain very youthful in appearance and athletic ability.
Our politicians tend not to know what they are doing and rarely plan for the future.
But it is certain that many countries will become short of food soon.
Being able to show people the photo of David Blaine living on water will help ease
their worries and millions of people will be living on mostly liquid diets, simply
because there won't be much food around until governments begin to grow extra
crops themselves.
This will have to happen because many farmers will go out of business due to lack
of finance from banks etc

If you will excuse the joke, there is food for thought in this article.
If you are not terribly well, you should at least drink an extra couple of liters of water
each day . Sometimes even headaches are caused by insufficient water intake.
(filtered water is best as it eliminates harmful chemicals like chlorine and fluoride.)
Most people are dehydrated without knowing it.
Water to the human body is like Oil to a motor engine.
Your body functions better with additional water.
Most people tend to eat a lot of bread, cakes, pizzas etc but the white flour which these
foods are produced from is often highly processed and not only not good for you, but
it also leaves a lot of liquid waste in your body and that gives you hardening of the
arteries etc. Better to choose fruit and vegetables if you can.
