Future Options

We need to have a selection of options which will take us into the twenty first century.

Virtually all the policies our politicians come up with - are better suited to the last century if not the century before that.

Those of us who use computers would not go back to using typewriters again.
But almost every other field in our society apart from computers and communications are back in the horse and buggy days.

Housing, Health, Education, Transport, are all desperately overdue for review.

Housing

We live in badly designed communities in which we rarely get to know our neighbors.
Leisure facilities are often far away from where we live.
This is how we should live ;

Health

We spend tens of billions of dollars on health (or more correctly poor health and illnesses ) and ninety per cent of that expenditure is unnecessary.

If children are put on the correct diet from an early age, almost all would live to be 100 years old and almost never need to see a Doctor.

The correct diet is almost entirely vegetables and fruit.

The usual diet is mostly Bread, cakes, meats, sweets, milk products with an occasional salad or a piece of fruit. This is a disastrous diet which inevitably causes people to become ill.

People simply need to be educated in what to eat on a daily basis and our hospitals would become short of patients.

We are not healthy people who occasionally become ill,  we are people who cause ourselves to become ill, because of the incorrect diets we have got into the habit of being on.

The photos on my website are how I look today. I will still look like this in another thirty years time. I do not eat a lot of food, but I am fairly careful about what I do eat.

Drinking a lot of water is helpful in remaining healthy as well.
If you are over weight or not feeling well, get some inspiration from this video;   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXmR13gKpdg&feature=related

And here are some photos of me at;

Education

Most University graduates are usually very poorly educated.

They know something about certain subjects, but as far as for instance the males knowing something of how women think - they are a bit naive and uninformed.

They have poor communication skills and though often reasonably literate ( they can read and write ) they are often abysmally ignorant of the areas in life that are  most important.
Some of these are communication skills, politics, health, music, social issues etc.

In short - they are less than half educated when they leave Universities.

Many of  the subjects in the school curriculums should be ditched and replaced with more relevant subjects.
Mathematics are a waste of time for most students who will only ever need primary school level arithmetic during their lives.
Why do we continue to force students to learn boring and irrelevant Mathematics ?
Because there are many thousands of mathematic Teachers who are trained to teach Mathematics and they want to keep their jobs.
But they can be retrained to teach other subjects.

In thirty years time our society will be so computerized robotic and outsourced, that few people will have full time employment.

We will become almost a leisure society.

How will we pay our bills ?
Well if we cut back on all the waste and corruption in Government and Business, and we gave everyone a minimum income of several hundred dollars a week, plus very affordable housing and leisure facilities - then none of us would need full time employment.
At the moment one third of all Australians are on very low incomes, and struggling to survive.
Yet if all the revenues from our Coal, Iron ore , gas , Oil and precious metals etc were shared equally among all Australians - then every Australian would be a millionaire.

Is that not more sensible than letting wealthy foreign investors take all our natural wealth and pay next to no tax as well ?

That is what happens at the moment.

But only because our dopey politicians allow it .

Transport

It is crazy that our roads are clogged with cars and trucks.

Almost 100 years ago there were floating Airships. Huge floating Airships as big as ocean going liners and they did not need Airports, they could float to the ground anywhere.

In the not too distant future this form of transport will be revived and we will be floating around say four or five meters (or yards) above the roads. This will allow the roads to become used mainly by pedestrians and cyclists.
A much more relaxed form of transport and much faster.

The biggest floating Airships being built today are as big as the biggest Jet aircraft . They might be a little slower, but if you can walk around, play sport, or sit at a bar having a drink, then who needs super fast aircraft ? The airships can float to the ground at anytime, whereas the big Jets tend to crash if they have engine trouble etc, and they need very large designated Airports also.

Floating Airships are the future. Here is a small car sized version ( but they could be shaped like flying saucers later on, for speed and stability in high winds)

Agriculture

The way we use our farm lands is ridiculously out of date.

Vast areas of farm land sometimes producing just one crop each year.

We sometimes live at high levels above the ground - why not grow crops to high levels as well ?
The best plants grow in hot houses which are covered by glass or plastic sheets.
Looking after indoor crops is fairly easy work and a pleasant way to make an income.

Bamboo poles grow quickly, they are very strong and last for many decades. By building multi-level agriculture in farming areas, with Bamboo poles and framing - then we could grow the same amount of food on ten acres of land as we can normally with 100 acres of land.
If bamboo is not available then we can use high rise platforms like the steel pole scaffolding you see on building sites.

We would harvest the crops with cherry picker type machinery.

We can have multi-level agriculture even in city areas. If plants have a few inches of soil (though often they can grow in just water - with nutrients added - this is called Hypoponics) you could have them growing in former office blocks in the cities.

So with a little imagination we can produce enough food to feed everyone quite easily

But Water may be a matter of concern in the future.

Water

What is the solution to our water problems ?

Well well well and more wells !

Most homes lose up to five or more times the water they consume each year with the water falling on their roofs going into storm water drains.

These days oil drilling companies can drill down several kilometers (or a mile or more) .
Imagine if you had a very deep hole in the ground in every street , covered with a concrete lid so people would not fall in.

All the rainwater from roofs would drain into these wells and suddenly the government would need not much in the way of reservoirs, because every street would have its own reservoir.

Now we would not need one in every street, but you get the general idea.

You could have underground tunnels like for underground railways, also holding water.

When the seas start to rise in coming years - we will be able to control sea levels by allowing sea water to flow into deep wells everywhere.

They filter salt etc out of sea water these days by having the water pass through membranes.
In other words its like filtering waste and water through a sieve. The water in very deep wells would become very heavy and would naturally filter through these membranes at the bottom of the wells, after passing through, the purified water could be raised to the surface by the weight of the water in the adjoining Well.
So we would have cheap water filtration (with the water to be used by the general community) and avert the  problem of rising sea waters at the same time.

All these ideas are not only feasible but will indeed be operating in the foreseeable future.

Here is another idea which has huge potential

A new energy source

A different but better World and all it needs is our Politicians to give the go-ahead. And they could do that next week if they were half as bright as they think they are !
